Vehicle Identification Unit
The Vehicle Identification Unit is a state-of-the-art digital computer with a programmable receptor. It is installed on vehicles to store registration number, mileage counter, engine hour counter, expense center, fleet identity and bank card information.
System Components
Vehicle Accessories : FuelOpass is a vehicle identification tag used during refueling operations. FuelOpass has a patented removal protection mechanism to eliminate risks of theft. Enhanced protection is achieved by correlating the FuelOpass and the Datapass of the same vehicle.
DataPass and EgDataPass
In addition to being an error-free odometer with capabilities to calculate the engine hour, these units are totally compatible with most popular vehicle communication protocols. Thanks to this communication feature, Datapass will be capable of reading such selectable data as idling times, vehicle's travel mileage, acceleration information and fault codes, in the near future. These data and information will all be available to fleet management for use as and when necessary.
DataPass
This miniature component connects to the vehicle CPU - data bus to read and retrieve data and information. Later on it relays such data and information to the nearest wireless gateway terminal (WGT). Currently, there are two types of DataPass units.
Wireless Gateway Terminal
Also referred to as WGT in short, this terminal provides a wireless network that covers the entire site. WGT relays data and information it receives from FuelOpass and DataPass modules to the forecourt controller (FCC), for online authorization. WGT traces the Nozzle Reader signals with continuous scans during a refueling operation, thus eliminating the risks of unauthorized removal of the nozzle or attempts of refueling any other vehicle not being a member of the fleet.
Nozzle Equipment
The Nozzle Reader (NR) obtains data from reading the FuelOPass and transmits the same in encrypted form to the nearest Wireless Gateway Terminal (WGT) using spread spectrum wireless communication.
